Chilaquiles & Culture: Honoring Mothers and Mexican Heritage at CPS
On Thursday, May 16th, at Dunbar Vocational Career Academy, we celebrated Mother's Day and Cinco de Mayo with a delightful Chef Council event. Presented by our Aramark colleague Noemi Cruz and her mother Juanita Cruz, attendees were treated to a live demonstration of how to prepare a quick and delicious Mexican delight—Chilaquiles! This traditional dish consists of crispy tortilla chips simmered in salsa and topped with cheese, crema, and often a variety of additional ingredients such as eggs or chicken, currently, this dish is part of the CPS menu. The event was graciously hosted by our wonderful Chef Candace Williams and her culinary students.
